Light up the winter darkness with a memorable farm visit on Kvaløya outside Tromsø and learn more about Norwegian Christmas traditions.
“Jul” is Norwegian for Christmas, a highlight and needed treat during the cold and dark arctic winters. A 35-minute transfer by minibus will take you from Tromsø to the coast of Kvaløya, to an old farm, the home of four generations of local farmers. This is where you will learn about the local traditions and Santa’s relative the “fjøsnisse”, a mythical little old man living with animals and people on farms. While you enjoy the cosy atmosphere you will be served the festive porridge, sweet mulled wine (without alcohol) and gingerbread.
